CAT 2016 Eligibility

• Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (whoever the graduation marks 45% will also be applicable for SC / ST / PwD Category Candidates) granted by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state parliament in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or hold an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India.
• Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply

CAT 2016 Exam Pattern

• Duration of the examination – 180 minutes.

• There will be three sections, ‘Quantitative Aptitude (QA) (34 questions)’, ‘Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) (32 questions)’ and ‘Verbal and Reading Comprehension (VRC) (34 questions)’.

• Candidates will be assigned maximum 60 minutes for answering questions in each section.

• Candidates cannot substitution from one section to another while answering questions in a section.

• Candidates can also use of basic on-screen calculator for computation.

• Tutorials to make out new exam format will be available on CAT website from October 15.
