Vishwakarma Institute of Management (VIM) is the flagship B
School of Bansilal Ramnath Agarwal Charitable Trust (BRACT). VIM was
established in the year 2001 and has made rapid strides in the last decade.
VIM is approved by AICTE New Delhi , recognized by Government of Maharashtra
& permanently affiliated to the University of Pune. It offers the two –
years full time MBA programme in affiliation to the University of Pune. It also
offers the PhD programme.
It is ISO 9001 - 2008 Certified and the MBA Programme is rated as “MH-A” by
CRISIL since AY 2011.
VIM has been recognised as the 2nd Best Professional Institute by University of
Pune (First Amongst Management Institutes). It is also the recipient of the
19th Dewang Mehta B School Award for the Best B School with Academic Inputs in
Marketing.
VIM has been closely associated with CII to host the CII-HR & IR Conclave
for the CII Western Region, since 2010. It also partners with CII for
initiatives such as FDPs, Study Tours , Job fairs, etc.

VIM was nationally the first Institute to partner with IBM to deliver its IBM
CEBT programme. It also have professional associations with Project Management
Institute (PMI), National Entrepreneurship Network (NES). VIM has been recognized
as “College of Substance” by NES (Natrajan Education Society – An initiative in
the education domain by Mr Ganesh Natarajan).
The industry has partnered with VIM on several counts. VIM delivers to its

Eligibility Criteria
Basic Qualification: In order to
secure admission to first year of two-year full time MBA course, the candidate
should fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
Passed with minimum of 50% marks in
aggregate* ( 45% in case of candidates of backward class categories belonging
to Maharashtra State only) in any Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years
duration in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian
Universities.
OR
Appeared for the final year
examination of any Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration in any
discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities. Such
candidates can be considered for provisional admission subject to passing the
Degree exam with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% in case of candidates
of backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State only).
Admission Process
Admission to the MBA programme is
done through a Centralized Admission Process (CAP) conducted by the Directorate
of Technical Education (DTE) every year.
The process is three tier &
comprises of
- Common Entrance Test (CAT, CMAT or any other entrance
exam accepted by DTE)
- CMAT is a multiple-choice objective test evaluating the
aptitude of the student in various areas like verbal ability, quantitative
aptitude, logic, visual reasoning, reading comprehension and data
interpretation.
- The admission process is based on Common Entrance Test
(CAT, CMAT or other entrance exams accepted by DTE)

Step 2: Registration for Group
Discussion & Personal Interview
Register with DTE, Government of
Maharashtra (www.dte.org.in) for GDPI Visit VIM to register online for DTE – GD
PI.
Step 3: Appear for Group Discussion
& Personal Interview
Participate in Group Discussion at
the designated GDPI Venue and Time as chosen and allotted to you. Candidates
are assessed for their GD performance. Obtain a minimum threshold score for
Personal Interview. Attend Personal Interview. Complete the GDPI Process.
Step 4: Apply to VIM
Apply to VIM online through website
www.vim.ac.in/admissions; giving your graduation and CMAT/CAT/ XAT/MAT /ATMA
registration details for institute level seats.
Step 5: Announcement of FINAL SCORE
Announcement of final results by DTE
on the basis of overall marks scored from various parameters (Entrance Test +
GD + PI).
Step 6: Submit Online Choices to DTE
