PU MET - Punjab University Management Entrance Test 2015

PU MET 2015 – Punjab University Management Entrance Exam acronym as PU MET is conducted by Panjab University to provide admission in Master of Business Administration programmes (given Below) at University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS) Chandigarh.

PU MET Eligibility 

Eligibility Condition for:

1. MBA (Retail Management) and
2. MBA (Banking and Insurance Management)

A Bachelor’s or Master Degree in any discipline of Panjab University or of any other University which has been recognized by the Syndicate as equivalent thereto with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate.

Provided that in case of candidates having Bachelor’s degree of the University through Modern Indian Languages [Hindi/Urdu/Punjabi (Gurumukhi Script)] and/or in a classical language (Sanskrit/ Persian/Arabic) or degree of any other University obtained in the same manner recognized by the Syndicate, 50%marks in the aggregate shall be calculated by taking into account full percentage of marks in all the papers in Language excluding the additional optional paper, English and the elective subject taken together. Or

Pass in the final examination conducted by either (a) Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or England, or (b) Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India or England or (c) Institute of Company Secretaries of India. Or

AMIE examination with 50% marks or more after having passed the diploma examination with 60% marks or above and have at least 5 years research/teaching or professional experience.

Eligibility Condition for:

1. MBA (Information Technology & Telecommunications Management) and
2. MBA (Infrastructural Management)

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology, i.e. B.E./B. Tech. (in any Branch) of Panjab University or of any other University recognized by Panjab University as equivalent thereto with at least 50% marks in the aggregate. Or

Bachelor’s degree in any Science subject with Physics and/or Mathematics of Panjab University or of any other University recognized by Panjab University as equivalent thereto with atleast 50% marks in the aggregate. Or

Bachelor’s in Computer Applications (BCA) of Panjab University or any of the other University recognized by the Panjab University as equivalent thereto with atleast 50% marks in the aggregate. Or

AMIE examination with 50% marks or more after having passed the diploma examination with 60% marks or above and have atleast 5 years research/teaching or professional experience.

Eligibility Condition for

1. MBA (Pharmaceutical Management) 

Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy of Panjab University or of any other University recognized by Panjab University as equivalent thereto with atleast 50% marks in aggregate. Or

M.B.B.S. of Panjab University or of any other University recognized by Panjab University as equivalent thereto with atleast 50% marks in aggregate. Or

Bachelor’s Degree in any Science subject of Panjab University or of any other University recognized by Panjab University as equivalent thereto with at least 50% marks in the aggregate AND Diploma in Pharmacy of Panjab University or of any other University recognized by Panjab University as equivalent thereto with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

Eligibility Condition for

1. MBA (Hospital Management)

MBBS/ BAMS/ BHMS/ BDS/ B. Pharmacy/ B.Sc (Nursing)/ Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) of Panjab University or a degree of any other University which has been recognized by the Syndicate as equivalent thereto with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate.

PU MET Syllabus

PU MET will consists of questions from:

1. General Knowledge
2. Economics and Business Environment Awareness
3. Data interpretation and problemsolving
4. Numerical Ability
5. Verbal Ability/ Reasoning and
6. English Comprehension

PU MET Pattern

PU MET will consists of objective multiple choice type of questions to be completed in 2 hours timee. The Entrance Test will carry 85% weightage.

How to apply for PU MET Exam?
Interested candidates have to apply Offline and should send his/her application under Registered Cover or personally on the prescribed application forms. Application, complete in all respects, along with the requisite documents should be sent only in the prescribed envelope so as to reach:

The documents as mentioned below must accompany the application form in the following sequence only:

1. Main Application form for M.B.A. Programme at UIAMS
2. Acknowledgement Receipt
3. Attested Copy of SC/ST/BC/reserved category certificate, if applicable, obtained from the competent authority.
4. In case candidate wishes to be considered for additional seats for ONLY (SINGLE) GIRL CHILD/CANCER/AIDS/KASHMIRI DISPLACED PERSON, relevant affidavit/ certificate from the competent authority to that effect must be attached.
5. One pre-postal stamped envelope for Registered Post for Admit Card

PU MET Exam Dates
PU MET is usually conducted in the month of March.

PU MET Exam Test Centres
PU CET is normally held in Chanidgarh and Ludhiana.

 PU MET Selection Process
The admission will be made on the basis of following assessments.

1. Entrance Test (85% weightage)
2. Group Discussion (7.5% weightage) and
3. Personal Interview (7.5% weightage)

PU MET Exam Fee

By Hand (Cash Only for Rs.1750) (In case of SC/ST candidates Rs.875) at Post Office, Panjab University Sector 14, Chandigarh, Sector-17 Chandigarh, Ludhiana G.P.O. and Delhi G.P.O. or

By Post from the Manager, Publication Bureau, PU, Sector-14, Chandigarh by sending a Bank Draft for Rs.1830 in favour of Registrar, Panjab University, Chandigarh payable at Chandigarh (In case of SC/ST candidates Rs.955).

In case form has been downloaded from the Internet, please attach requisite fee of Rs.1750 (In case of SC/ST candidates, Rs.875) in the form of a bank draft in favour of Registrar, Panjab University payable at Chandigarh.
